Mark Farlow is a Principal and the Director of Design at HAA / Hamilton Anderson Associates. He has nearly 30-years of professional experience in the design and management of architecture and urban design projects. Mark assists clients in the development of design vision and strategies for implementation of projects and leads the design vision for a 75-person office.

His most recent projects include Little Caesars Arena, City Modern Detroit, and Elton Park. His current project is a residential tower on the former Big Boy site in Islandview collaborating with wHY from Los Angeles, CA.

He is an enthusiastic advocate for the architecture profession and loves to give back to the community. Mark has deep ties to the Birmingham Rotary Club: he was the club’s president and served as Team Leader for the 2018 Group Study Exchange (GSE) where he traveled to Turkey for five weeks.

He also teaches architecture at Lawrence Tech, his alma mater. In 2016, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Architectural Alumni Award (the DAA is the College’s top alumni award). That same year he was conferred the university’s top faculty prize, the Henry & Barbara Horldt Award. Mark is also the 2013 Teaching & Learning with Technology Award winner for his ground-breaking online architecture studios.

Mark Farlow received a Bachelor of Science in 1981, a Bachelor of Architecture in 1982, and a Master of Architecture in 2009. While a student at LTU, he was resident-curator of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Affleck House in Bloomfield Hills and was responsible for their acquisition of this treasure in 1978. He was also the recipient of the Masonry Institute of Michigan Scholarship in 1981 and served as chair of the Architectural Alumni Cabinet in 2009-2010.

Prior to HAA, Mark was with Victor Saroki & Associates (now called Saroki Architecture). He was with the Birmingham firm for over 22-years and was promoted to principal of the firm in 2000.
